SHEILA WHALEN
Self-employed specialty food broker 10+ years, self-motivated, loyal friend, lover of laughter and good food, proud Husky alum, Mom to three amazing children, and one who has gone on to Heaven as an Angel
Likes: Family time, watching her kids succeed, sports of all kinds, exploring the outdoors, pouring over cookbooks, live music in all forms, podcasts, good wine, and weekends doing jigsaw puzzles
Dislikes: Lima beans, grief, hatred, abuse, homelessness, and bigotry
Sheila is the proud owner of Elijah Blue Trading Co, a multi-line manufacturer’s rep firm and brokerage, working with some of the Pacific Northwest’s best specialty food retailers, wine shops, gift shops and grocery stores. She feels blessed to work alongside passionate entrepreneurial makers, and enjoys the ability to travel and explore beautiful retail environments as part of her job.
Sheila is a native of Seattle, a proud Husky alum, and a breast cancer Survivor. She has been married to her husband Rob for 28 adventure-filled years. When she is not entertaining or traveling, you will find her visiting and exploring with her adult children – one in the tech-start up world in San Francisco, one in graduate school at Cal Poly/San Luis Obispo, and her youngest who plays basketball at Smith College in Northampton, MA.
Sheila is a former foster parent. She strongly believes that everyone has the ability to change someone’s life, and that it should not be wasted. She credits her own foster experience with leading her to Seattle Angels, and hopes the Love Box and Dare to Dream Programs will help other families like hers. Sheila hopes to use her connections and experience to move Seattle Angels forward with compassion and integrity.
