Sydney Nguyen
Listener, old soul, community builder, loved by cats, most at peace walking through the city on a clear day with no plans
Likes: Deep conversations, good music, late nights, farmers markets, handwritten notes, good food and a good drink
Dislikes: Wet socks, small talk, and getting her pant loop stuck on a doorknob
Sydney’s connection to the child welfare system stems from her passion for trauma-informed care, storytelling, and community-centered work. After earning her bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology from Santa Clara University—where she generated an award-winning research proposal on racialization and structural inequity—she returned home to Seattle to pursue her Master of Social Work at Seattle University. With experience in both direct service and systems-level research, Sydney brings a relational, equity-focused lens to her work.
She joined Seattle Angels in July 2025, drawn to the organization’s mission to build consistent, meaningful relationships with children, youth, and families experiencing foster care. Sydney believes real change happens in the context of connection and that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported.
Outside of work and grad school, you can find her people-watching from a park bench, playing with her extremely attached rescue cat, Bumi, or trying to recreate her mom’s cooking (with mixed results).
